Certificate of Professional Practice – Drama in Education

This course provides a different skill set on problem-solving exercises and small or large group activities to stimulate children’s interests. It uses drama as a tool to understand diverse social contexts and lesson planning for different specific groups of learners. It integrates Drama into other subject like English or Social Studies as an effective tool to enhance the learning and understanding of these subjects. Overall the course ensures comprehension and appreciation of the finer points of drama as a tool for teaching, both for soft skills and character building as well as achieving proficiency in the use of IT for drama.

Admission Criteria

  • Minimum 3 “O” levels with credit in English or
  • Any other recognised Certification, Diploma or Degree
  • Mature candidates by interview and approval from the School

Assessment

  • Classroom Presentation / Participation
  • Forum Participation
  • Lesson Planning
  • Practicum / Practical Examination
  • Written Theory Examination

Course Duration

  • Part-time study – 8 weeks in total
  • 1 session a week, – 4 hours per session

Graduation

Upon successful completion of all lessons, Practical Examination and Theory Examination, candidates will be awarded a Certificate of Professional Practice – Drama in Education accredited by London Teacher Training College, along with a Transcript.
